Preparing for the Alzheimer's Show - Club4Carers

We’re really looking forward to launching Club4Carers when we exhibit at the Alzheimer’s show at Olympia on 8th-9th June 2018.

We’ll be joining a great range of other exhibitors and we’re looking forward to meeting them all.  We’ll also be doing some facebook lives from the show onto our public page https://www.facebook.com/caring4dementiacarers/ so whether you’re planning to visit the show or not, keep a look out for some great information about services and resources that are offered by a whole host of suppliers and charities.

If you’re able to get to the show, you’ll be in for a feast of great information that is directly relevant to caring for a loved-one with dementia. As well as the exhibitors (don’t forget to come and say “Hi” – we’re on stand F15) you’ll also find some great presentations in the Alzheimer’s Matters Theatre, live demonstrations in the Exhibitor Workshop Theatre, a Practical Activities Workshop and practical advice from carers and professionals in the Talks and Topics Theatre. This is a dementia friendly show so many people come with their loved-ones and can try out some of the tools and accessories which have been specially designed to assist and empower those with dementia.

High on my list for a visit are Admiral Nurses, Dementia Adventure, Sensory Care shop and Salford Institute for Dementia. Take a look at the list of exhibitors by clicking here. Is there anyone you’d particularly like us to check out for you?  If so, please let us know by leaving us a message on the facebook page and we’ll see if we can do a short interview with them to find out more.

On our facebook page you can also tell us one thing that you find most challenging as a dementia carer. Whether it’s feelings of guilt, grief, money worries or feelings of isolation, we’re building a bank of resources to help you to handle all of these issues.

Come along to the Alzheimer’s show if you’re able to – and if it’s just not possible then fear not, we’ll keep you fully informed of some of the key information and resources.
